Message I have a 1994 non-turbo 300zx. Recently the auto climate control stopped lighting up completely and stopped working. I could smell an electrical burnt smell. So I bought a 1993 auto climate control, plugged it in and still, the digital display doesn't light up or work. I tried looking in the FSM, but I couldn't find much help. Could someone tell me what to check in order of "most-likely" to cause the problem? I sure hope that the 1993 used controller is not busted, the guy said it was functional. So I'm hoping that it's a fuse, relay, shunted sensor, or something else. I'm also wondering if something else that's shorted out may have caused the original unit to fail, and that I need to fix the root cause of the current overload so I don't fry the one I just bought. Any help would be greatly appreciated, e.g. FSM manual pages I should look at (remember, I can't do auto-diagnosis since the controller is not working), or if you know the pin-out and the voltages I should be reading at each pin out, or relays/switches (how many are there?) that may have failed, etc. or if I should check for shunted sensors, etc. Any help, please!!
